In GTA 6, cops no longer appear on the minimap: you only see a red search zone. To find you, they use an ability called Focus, according to bulbaGTA6's video. A crime must first be reported, by a witness, an alarm, or a stolen car's tracker, according to GTA6 only. Police cars carry trackers, and the cops build a profile of your face, clothes, weapon, partner and CCTV footage. The search zone can grow to cover the whole map, with K-9 dogs and stinger strips. In a demo described by Edge, officers talked over the radio, laid a spike strip at night and sent a police dog after Jason. As for stars, Hidden Leonida lists six, each level with its own color, icons showing what the police know about you, and a Criminal Profile. Police no longer spawn instantly and can describe you and your car, according to After Dark's video. Finally, roads are reportedly about 15% narrower than in GTA 5, according to Rob Nelson's interview with ZEIT.
