Checklist based on Underworld Archives, Vice City Tracker and BeauJo Gaming:
1. Digital pre-order: only digital copies allow preloading, in Standard or Ultimate.
2. Free up up to 212 GB, a size confirmed by Rockstar.
3. Unlock time: PS5 at midnight local time on November 10, Xbox at 12 AM GMT on November 10, which is 7 PM ET on November 9.
4. Turn on automatic downloads: keep the PS5 on or in Rest Mode with internet enabled.
5. Check your connection, especially if it's slow or has a data cap.
Preload moved from November 12 to November 10, but some Rockstar support pages still show the old date, so confirm in your store. Sources disagree on boxed copies: some say they reach stores on November 12, others on November 10. There is no disc, only a download code. The pre-order bonus, including a month of GTA+ for digital pre-orders, applies to purchases made before November 20, according to BeauJo Gaming.
